NOISE OR MUSIC...!!!
Music can be seen from the chirp of birds to the first cry of the child. It is not just a sound, but an emotion. Not every sound in the world can be termed as music. It has to be melodic in nature. It has to be full of emotions and not emotionless. E.g if we see a car honking, it is not music but is noise. So, there is a lot of difference between sound and a melodic sound.
If we try to understand in layman's language, the sound which is desirable and lovable by our ears is MUSIC, others are just NOISE.
We can also justify it with the help of the images. As we can see in both the images, the sound is present but the left one is Noise and the other one is Music.
So we can clearly differentiate between Noise and Music. But there are various factors which makes them different from each other. Some of the factors are as under:
- Uneven Frequencies: The unevenness between the different frequencies of the sound can affect it deeply and can convert a soothing music piece into a distracting noise. If we are talking about Music, the difference between the frequencies must be even, if it is uneven then it is just Noise.
- Soothing in nature: There is a nature of every sound, which decides whether it is noise or musical piece. So, the soothing touch should be there to term it as music.
- Emotions: 3rd and one of the most important point is emotion. If there is a sound which is emotionless it cannot be termed as Music. The emotions(can be any) should be there to call it as a piece of good Music.
- Periodic and Regular: Musical sounds are always Periodic/Regular in nature but the Noise is never Regular or Periodic. Noise is Irregular.
- Well Organised: Musical sounds are well organised with the time but the noises are not organised form of sound. So, it was just a brief difference between Noise and Sound which can easily help you to make a clear cut difference between a Noise and a piece of Music.
